Starting and growing a small business is a journey filled with twists and turns. My journey began when I founded Pleiades Pure & Natural Skincare, creating handmade skincare products that I was proud to share with the world. While I had an online presence through social media and my website, I realized that connecting with customers in person and networking with fellow entrepreneurs was essential for growth. That’s when I ventured into the world of vendor events.

The Challenges of Finding Vendor Events

At first, I sought out local vendor events to showcase my products. I found a few here and there, but the experience wasn’t always smooth. Unfortunately, I encountered scams, particularly through social media platforms like Facebook groups. To avoid these issues, I decided to stick with a particular organizer whose events were reliable and well-run. However, when that organizer stopped hosting events in my area, I had to start my search all over again.

This time, my luck didn’t improve. Many of the events I found were poorly organized, often held outdoors where bad weather could ruin the day, or in locations with minimal foot traffic. Some events were set up in unsuitable areas, like fire stations, where the only people attending were other vendors. It became clear to me that many organizers didn’t prioritize the success of their vendors.

Taking Matters into My Own Hands

In 2020, after one too many disappointing experiences, I decided to take control. I began organizing my own vendor events with the goal of creating spaces where vendors could thrive. From the start, my mission was simple: to care about my vendors and set them up for success.
